Why use a dry-running doormat?

To keep as much moisture away as possible, a dry-running doormat is positioned inside your house behind the front door. A dry-running mat is able to absorb high quantities of water while removing any remaining dirt before you step inside any further. This keeps the floor dry and clean, resulting in having to mop the floor less often and reducing wear and tear of the floor. In addition, an indoor entrance mat contributes to your safety and that of your family and guests by preventing the floor from becoming a slippery danger zone.

What is the difference between a dirt-trapping mat and a dry-running mat?

Both terms are actually self-explanatory: a dirt-trapping mat serves as a dirt scraper, removing coarse dirt from the soles of shoes. The fibre structure of outdoor entrance mats is therefore coarser than that of indoor entrance mats. The dirt-scrapping mat is placed outside the front door so that you can get rid of most of the dirt before you even enter the house. After entering the hourse, the dry-running doormat takes over by absorbing moisture and scraping off any remaining dirt. Together, both these doormats make for the perfect pair to fight moisture and dirt in order to protect your floor from damage!

How do you clean a dry-running entrance mat?

To extend the life of the mat, regular cleaning is advised. The doormat should be vacuum-cleaned about twice a week to remove all loose dirt. If necessary, the mat can also be cleaned with the garden hose and left to air-dry.

High-quality dry-running entrance mat

Our entrance mat for indoor use is made of high-quality polyamide. Polyamide is a synthetic fabric and is very strong, elastic and excellent at absorbing moisture. Moisture is absorbed by the polyamide fibres and then evaporates through the air flow. The strong fibres also remove any remaining dirt from under shoes. Quickly vacuum-clean the doormat to remove the dirt completely.

Protect the floor from other dirt

Using the right doormats in the right places ensures that most of the dirt stays outside. In practice, however, it is impossible to keep dirt outside completely. That is why it is important to vacuum-clean your floor regularly and clean it with the right cleaning agent. Last but not least, it is also important to equip furniture with the right protective caps or furniture glides. The majority of floor damage is caused by poor-quality or simply unsuitable protective caps and glides used under furniture that is used on these floors every day. Furniture glides by Scratch no More are guaranteed scratch-free and provide optimal protection for the floor.
