Scratch no More’s swivel castors are excellent floor protectors. The soft tread made of thermoplastic rubber (TPR) prevents scratches, dents and any other floor damage. It also allows the castors to roll across the floor quietly and makes them particularly abrasion-resistant, even with intensive use. As a result, these swivel castors do not leave any marks on the floor and are extremely durable. The maximum load capacity is 40 kg per castor.

Swivel castors must be mounted perpendicular to the floor for the castors to roll and rotate freely instead of dragging across the floor.

We recommend to order our stems along with the swivel castors to ensure the perfect fit. The current stems may be slightly different, resulting in the castors to be mounted too tight or too loose. To do this, always measure the section of the stem that is fastened in the furniture leg. This can be a grip ring stem or a threaded stem.

Are your current castors and stems stuck in the sockets? If so, we recommend ordering new castor sockets to ensure that the new swivel castors fit perfectly.

Mounting instructions:
Please follow the steps below in order to mount the swivel castor:

  1. Check if the current castor is attached to the chair leg with a threaded stem or a grip ring stem: If you see a hexagon nut at the base of the stem that is inserted in the chair, it is a threaded stem. If the same spot shows a slight bulge instead of the hexagon nut, it is a grip ring stem.
  2. Remove the current castor and stem: If it is a grip ring stem, pull the castor out of the chair leg. Often both the castor and the grip ring stem will come loose when you pull them out. If only the castor comes loose and the stem is stuck, clamp it with a pipe wrench and use a hammer to gently tap on the wrench in order to release the stem. If it is a threaded stem, twist the stem and castor clockwise until they loosen and can be removed. Use pliers or an open-end wrench for additional leverage, if needed.
  3. Now insert the new swivel castor with stem. Grip ring stems are simply pushed into the hole until they lock into place. Threaded stems need to be twisted into the threaded hole of the chair leg until the castor is firmly in place.

Please note: Swivel castors must be mounted perpendicular to the floor. Incorrectly mounted castors get stuck, dragging across the floor and damaging it.

Maintenance: If necessary, clean the castor tread with a damp cloth. If the surface is heavily soiled, a diluted, mild cleaning agent (e.g. washing-up liquid) can be used additionally. Do not use abrasive, acidic or otherwise aggressive cleaning agents such as scouring cream or chlorine.
